Hey There,
Singapore is sunny. I believe you will agree with me when i say you need sunglasses when you are living in this part of the world? But with so many brands and already crowded sunglasses marketplace, its not an easy feat to come out with something unique and fresh from the ordinary.
So I have asked myself how can it be different from the rest? Plastics and metals are great but they have become typical and predictable. They are everywhere and everyone is kinda tired of them. Nothing is cool about them anymore and they are not eco-friendly and sustainable. Yuck!
That made me ponder on the material quite a bit. Initially i thought of using harden paper because they are durable and lightweight. But then i realised that it is not weather proof and it can be easily deformed with water. So i decided to use bamboo and wood instead and voila the name "WearAWood" came about.
You may have noticed, the WearAWood name is a phrase that denotes action. It was conceptualised based on three pillars;
Be Cool.
WearAWood is a great way to bring your look back to the basics. Not only will it make you whimsical but it offers you a resulting style that is undoubtedly unique, unexpected and cool.
Be Local.
WearAWood is a fashion and an advocacy at the same time. Nothing is more fulfilling than wearing something that has meaning to it. WearAWood advocates local products, businesses and communities.
Be Natural.
Our collections are handmade entirely from bamboo and wood. Its lightweight and durable and it gives a natural look that will help you standout in a crowd.
Hope you now understand the background behind WearAWood and thanks for your time reading my little note. I promise that for every support you make, will set aside certain amount to environment related organisations by the end of each year.
Again, i invite you to join me as i wander this world wearing a wood. Thank you for your support.
Cheers!
